New: Different Minds, Same Love, a workbook for ADHD, autistic and AuDHD children
Our new parent and child workbook for neurodivergent children aged 5 to 14 is out now on Amazon: short pages, calm tools and practical plans for meltdowns, sleep, school and big feelings.
The short answer
Different Minds, Same Love is Hearth's new workbook for families of ADHD, autistic and AuDHD children aged 5 to 14. It is out now as a paperback on Amazon UK. It is built for how neurodivergent brains work: short pages, one idea at a time, and lots of space to draw, tick and talk together, with or without a diagnosis.
Why we made it
So many families are waiting months, sometimes years, for an assessment or support. Meanwhile, the meltdowns, the school mornings and the long bedtimes carry on. We wanted parents to have something calm and practical in their hands today, something they can open at the kitchen table for ten minutes, not another long book about their child.
How it works
Every part of the workbook has three kinds of page:
- Grown-up pages to read with a cup of tea
- Together pages to do with your child in 5 to 10 minutes
- A one-minute Hard-day box for the days when everything feels too much
What's inside
- More than 80 activities and fill-in tools drawing on cognitive behavioural approaches (CBT), DBT skills, relaxation and emotional regulation
- Meltdown, shutdown and calm plans, a feelings volcano, a feelings thermometer and calm cards
- Sensory maps, energy batteries and body-signal activities
- Sleep diaries, wind-down routines and a place to park bedtime worries
- Focus, homework and time tools, such as task breakers and First–Then cards
- A clear guide to ARFID and selective eating, with a food explorer ladder
- Plain-English help with UK school support, SENCOs and EHCPs, plus school meeting planners
- A section for ages 11 to 14: secondary school, puberty, online life and identity
- Pages for parents: your own wellbeing, siblings and co-parenting
- A 30-day Calm Challenge, cut-out cards and a certificate
Who it is for
Parents and carers of children aged 5 to 14 who are ADHD, autistic or both, whether you have a diagnosis, are on a waiting list, or are simply wondering. Grandparents, teachers and teaching assistants may find it useful too.

How Hearth can help alongside the workbook
The workbook pairs with Hearth's free tools: Calm it now for in-the-moment scripts, the School Toolkit, Sleep sounds and the Waiting Room Plan. You'll find them all at hearthwellbeinghub.com.
This workbook offers education and support only. It does not diagnose, and it does not replace advice from professionals who know your child.
Hearth offers wellbeing self-help, not a replacement for professional support.
